         There’s a quiet strength hidden in that little word “still.” Not the kind that asks me to fold my hands and do nothing, but the kind that invites my soul to stop spiraling… to breathe… to trust.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          When my friend shared Exodus 14:14 with me, I felt it settle into the very place where my heart has been unsettled. We are walking through a season that feels unfamiliar, heavy, and full of questions I can’t answer. Life has shifted beneath my feet, and some days my confidence wobbles more than I care to admit.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          But “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still” whispers something different.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It tells me that “still” doesn’t mean powerless—it means anchored.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It means choosing calm over panic, trust over fear, surrender over striving.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It means allowing God to step into the places where I have reached the end of myself.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          In this season, I’m learning that being still is not a retreat but it is a resting of my weight on God. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I am  letting Him hold what I cannot carry… 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           and believing that while I stand here, trembling but trusting, He is already fighting for me.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          And somehow, that truth steadies me.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Even in the different.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Even in the difficult.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Even here.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Reflection:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Is there a place in your life where you have been striving, worrying, or trying to solve everything on your own? What might it look like today to place that situation into God’s hands and simply stand still in trust?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Call to action:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Take a quiet moment today. Breathe. Bring that situation before the Lord and whisper this prayer:
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          “Lord, I trust You to fight this battle for me. Help my heart to be still.”
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           As I paged through my journal this morning, I came across my reflection on the 3rd January 2019, on this verse in 1 Samuel 30: 6-8.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            Context
           &#xD;
      &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           1 Samuel 30:6-8, highlights an important spiritual principle about seeking God's guidance in times of distress and decision-making.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           David and his men returned to their camp at Ziklag to find it destroyed and their families taken captive by the Amalekites. The men were deeply grieved and blamed David, even contemplating stoning him. In the midst of this chaos, David faced intense emotional pressure.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            Key Lessons and Significance

            o	Before David acted, he "found strength in the Lord his God." This phrase signifies a moment of deep trust, dependence, and spiritual renewal.

      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            o	After strengthening himself, David turned to Abiathar the priest and asked for the ephod, a tool used in ancient Israel to discern God's will. Only then did he inquire of the Lord about the next steps.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            o	This reflects a critical spiritual discipline: seeking God's guidance before making major decisions. It shows humility and recognition of God's sovereignty.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             3.	Avoiding Rash Decisions:
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            o	The text emphasizes the importance of not acting impulsively, even under immense pressure. David's decision to first seek God contrasts with his men’s emotional reaction of blaming and threatening violence.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            o	This teaches the value of patience and deliberate dependence on God's wisdom instead of relying on one's own judgment.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             4.	God's Response to Inquiry:
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            o	When David sought God's guidance, he received clear direction: "Pursue them. You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue." This assures believers that God is faithful to guide those who genuinely seek Him with humility and trust.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/blockquote&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Personal Reflection and Application
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           From my own life, I have experienced both scenarios: strengthening myself in the Lord before making decisions or confronting an issue, and failing to do so. Through these experiences, I have seen the wisdom in prioritizing God’s presence and guidance. When I take the time to strengthen myself in the Lord, my decisions are clearer, and my actions align more closely with His will. In contrast, neglecting this crucial step has led to devastating effects.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           One key insight I’ve learned is that when we fail to strengthen ourselves in the Lord before seeking His guidance, we leave ourselves open to deception. Something may look and sound like truth, but it isn’t—especially when measured against God’s Word. Strengthening ourselves in the Lord ensures that we are spiritually grounded and discerning, helping us to navigate challenges with wisdom and faith.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            Application for Today
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            •	Spiritual Prioritization: In times of distress, it is easy to act on emotions or logic alone, but this passage and personal experience encourage believers to pause and seek God first.

    &lt;blockquote&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            •	Humility in Leadership: David’s example shows that true leadership involves depending on God rather than trying to control everything by oneself.

      <title>Joy comes in the Morning</title>

           Joy comes in the morning
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  
         From June onward last year, I kept having a thought that filled my heart with joy and renewed hope—“Next year this time, I will hold our new bundle of joy.” It was more than a passing wish; it was a deep, faith-filled expectation, a glimpse of God’s promise for our family.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Then, in mid-October, we received the exciting news—my daughter Josie was pregnant! We were overjoyed and amazed at how quickly it had happened. And so, the next season of prayerful waiting began—the gender reveal. I was convinced it would be a boy. In my small, human way of thinking, I assumed God wouldn’t give us another girl again. But how little I understood His ways!
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It was a girl! How often do we try to predict God’s plans, only to be reminded that His thoughts are higher than ours?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As the months went by, however, fear tried to creep in. Again and again, I had to surrender my anxieties and declare, “Lord, I choose to trust You.”
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Then, in the final trimester, doctors discovered a complication that should have been noticed much earlier. The initial news was overwhelming for both the parents and me, but after consulting with a doctor friend, we were reassured. A conversation with my best friend, whose daughter had faced the same diagnosis just a year earlier, gave me even more peace and clarity. She encouraged me not to let fear cloud my faith.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Instead of spreading worry, I chose to keep it in prayer and trust our Heavenly Father. And in that trust, I found total peace about Penelope’s well-being.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Then, on June 6th, just a day after my birthday, our beautiful rainbow baby, Penelope, was born—perfect, whole, lacking nothing.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This journey reminded me that when we ask God for something, we often expect a smooth and easy process. But faith isn’t just about receiving the promise—it’s about growing through the journey. God builds our trust, strengthens our character, and deepens our dependence on Him. It’s like a birthing experience—sometimes painful, sometimes uncertain, but ultimately, leading to something beautiful.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you’re an expecting mother or facing uncertainty in pregnancy, hold onto faith. God knows the baby He is bringing into your life, and He will equip you for every step ahead.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

          Faith in Business: How God Answered Our Million-Rand Prayer

          When I first stepped into the world of entrepreneurship, I felt like the new girl on the block. Everything was unfamiliar. But my husband and I dared to pray a bold prayer: we asked God for a million-rand contract. It sounded impossible, yet we believed in His provision.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Impossible Prayer Becomes Reality
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Just two years later, the unthinkable happened. A major contract opportunity opened up. Competing against industry giants, I chose not to rely on my own wisdom but sought God’s guidance—even in how to prepare my cost estimate.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          When the results were announced, the contract was awarded to us! What a miracle. But our joy was met with resistance. Some competitors were furious and tried to overturn the decision. Yet their efforts failed, because when God opens a door, no one can shut it (Revelation 3:8).
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Bigger Test: Financing the Contract
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Winning wasn’t the hardest part—financing was. With no capital and no bank willing to approve such a large loan, every door seemed shut. One suggestion was to partner with a competitor, but in my spirit, I knew this was our God-given assignment.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          After much prayer, we humbly approached our client, explaining our challenge. By God’s grace, they issued a letter of intent to the bank. That one document unlocked the financial support we needed to begin.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Lessons in Faith and Perseverance
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This experience taught me something crucial:
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        
            Faith isn’t just about instant breakthroughs.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        
            God often allows a process—to stretch our character, build resilience, and strengthen our spiritual muscles.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        
            Challenges are not signs of failure but opportunities to deepen trust.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Every trial is like faith training. The next time a mountain stands in front of you, you’ll already have the muscle memory of God’s past faithfulness.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Encouragement for Christian Entrepreneurs
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you’re a Christian business owner facing challenges today, remember:

            Don’t fear the obstacles—embrace them.

            He didn’t bring you this far to abandon you.

          As Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Pray... Pray...Pray!</title>

         Now, more than ever, we the church should rise to the call of prayer. We are living in desperate and uncertain times. God is waiting for us His church to respond to this crisis.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
             If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      
           (2 Chron. 7v14) This is a time to rally together and approach His throne of grace and call upon His name to bring an end and prevent any more devastation to come to our land. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Every morning for the past week in my prayer time, I have been sensing that the urge to pray into this matter is growing and becoming deeper as we go along.  We need to understand that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph.6v12) We cannot afford to lie low there is just too much at stake, church.  It is time to arise to our call! Let’s not give in to the enemy's evil scheme,  pray against his works.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Church, we have nothing to lose but so much to gain. This is a pivotal moment in our history – where we are standing on the brink of a revival. Yes, in a situation like this – the perfect storm that has the potential to orchestrate one of the greatest revivals we have ever seen.  Church, this is harvest time!
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      
           James 5v16
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
           &#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As the world around us is riddled in fear, let us rise to the call of intercession. Over the years, I have heard the number  one excuse for not being able to pray was “Time”. Well, time is no longer a problem -  now is the perfect opportunity to make use of idle time – pray.  Get your family involved and pray.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ” Psalm 5v3.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I believe, the devastating effects of this virus, is still ahead of us but we can pray that God will protect us and bring a quick restoration to our economies.
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            “We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.”
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Daniel 9v18.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

         When we find ourselves in the midst of a crisis, it can feel nearly impossible to keep things in perspective. The challenges we face seem overwhelming, and fear threatens to take hold. But as believers, we must remind ourselves that our circumstances are temporary. No matter how dark the storm may seem, this too shall pass.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As Christians, we have a powerful advantage—Christ within us, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). While the world around us may feel like it’s spiraling out of control, we have a choice: we can either be swept away by fear or remain anchored in faith. Choosing to stay calm in the storm is our way of declaring, "I am not alone in this. Jesus is with me and my family."
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          In today’s world, good news seems rare. But as followers of Christ, we are called to be the good news. We carry the light of Jesus within us, and we have the opportunity to share hope, encouragement, and kindness with those around us.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How to Spread Hope in Difficult Times
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Here are a few simple but powerful ways to be a beacon of hope in your community:
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Help the elderly: Offer to do grocery shopping or run errands for elderly neighbors.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Support parents: If safe to do so, offer to watch a neighbor’s children for a few hours.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Encourage others: Send uplifting messages to friends, family, and neighbors.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Show gratitude: Write ‘thank you’ notes for grocery store workers, postal workers, medical staff, and others providing essential services.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Host virtual encouragement: Organize a video call to uplift and pray with friends and family.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ✅ Use social media for good: Share Bible verses, prayers, and messages of encouragement online.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Pray Without Ceasing
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This is a time for prayer warriors to rise up. Let us continue to pray for our families, the sick, our communities, our nation, medical staff, and our leaders. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand firm in faith, knowing that God is in control.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Be the Church, Be the Light
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Now, more than ever, the Church has an opportunity to shine brightly in a world filled with uncertainty. This is a time for us to realign with God’s purpose—to be a light, a voice of hope, and a source of strength for the lost and broken.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Let’s stand together in faith. Let’s remain hopeful. God is still on the throne, and He is working all things for good.
          &#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

         This morning as I was preparing myself for quiet time, I just felt the Lord was saying:
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           “Take heart my people, I am with you, and I go before you. This too will pass.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           I am the Lord your God, who uphold heaven and earth and surely will uphold you with my right hand. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Do not fear! You are in the world, but not of the world. Do not allow the yoke of heaviness that the world wants to place upon you overtake you. Stand therefor strong in the promises of the Almighty God. Be strong and courageous, very courageous – for fear will and has swiped through the lands. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Stand on my word and promises – I am with you. Do not let the voices of the world make you tremble, for you are in me and I in you. Hold firm to your faith. I am greater and beyond this – you know this – so stand firm in your faith.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           How comforting to know that we as believers can stand secure in our Lord Jesus Christ.  We do not have to give in to fear, or despair, for He is with us.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The enemy wants to incite fear and panic. Let’s look to Him for guidance and counsel – the author and finisher of our faith. What enemy intends for harm; God will use for good.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          Take Time to Validate, Inspire &amp;amp; Encourage

           The other night driving home from visiting my daughter, I was thinking and reflecting on Valentines Day.  Earlier that day and every year, I smile at the many men who take time out and pop into the flower shop to get flowers for their partners.  On this day you do not see any women in the store other than those serving and making up those bouquets.  I look at the men, looking very serious and concentrated, getting the perfect bunch together, walking out proudly with their pick — hoping their partners will receive their romantic gesture with gratitude, appreciation and love.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           This one-time and other special occasions people put extra effort into letting a loved one know they matter and are loved. This thought brought me back to my life and maybe yours. We are busy every day with the people who matter to us.  We have conversations—meaningful and not meaningful. We disagree to agree.  We eat together, watch a series together. We laugh and cry together. When facing storms, we endure together.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Thinking of my daughter, how I watched her going through the loss of her daughter; always checking to make sure she was okay.  We spoke and shared about our processing of the loss over the past year. But I realized some things I wanted and want her to know; I didn’t get to say yet. I first thought, I will get to tell her sometime.  But what if it is too late? 
           &#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            That’s when I wrote her a letter the next day.  I took time and wrote a letter to my daughter.  Telling her the things I do not tell her in our normal conversations. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Life passes us by so quickly, and so do memorable moments. How better than to capture those moments on a piece of paper—validating, inspiring and encouraging someone else. Letting them know that you take notice and that you are present in their lives.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I remember years ago, when my daughter—the eldest turned sixteen, I wrote a poem, capturing all the memorable moments from the day she was born. I framed it and gave it to her on her birthday.  When her brother turned sixteen, he insisted on his poem.  I did one for each of our children. And when my daughter got married and expected her first baby, I wrote her letters.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           These poems and letters, I know, impacted my children’s lives.  It was my way of sharing my heart with them.  In which way, can you impact your family life?
          &#xD;

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          My Journey as a short-lived Nana

          A week had passed, and doctors were still uncertain about Elizabeth's illness. More blood tests and brain scans were conducted to bring them closer to a diagnosis. After eleven days in the hospital, she was transferred to another facility when traces of Leukemia were found in her blood.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The news was shocking, and I had to remind myself that everything would be okay, as I had seen in my dream. The specialist examined her thoroughly, asking her parents many questions. After another lumbar puncture and nearly five hours of waiting, we received the results—Elizabeth did not have Leukemia. The doctor explained that she showed no signs of Leukemia, and her blood cells did not exhibit any of the characteristic markers. This news was a huge relief.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Only four days later, Elizabeth was diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis. Treatment with cortisone began immediately, and she responded well to the medication. While we expected her hospital stay to be longer, depending on how she responded, she was discharged on the fifth day. We were grateful for the rapid and remarkable progress she made. During this time, doctors continued to monitor her blood tests, checking for Leukemia and Tuberculosis, as her symptoms overlapped with these conditions.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          On the day she was released, I made her favorite meal—Spaghetti Bolognese. In the following weeks, she wore an eye-patch for one to two hours daily. When she returned for a follow-up appointment in October, her condition had improved, and her blood tests showed no concerns. Elizabeth was back to her normal self and ready to start Kindergarten in October.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I continued to pray, grateful for her miraculous healing. Her parents enrolled her in baby gym classes, and I had the privilege of joining her every Wednesday afternoon. I watched as she climbed and jumped through the obstacle course with so much joy. Occasionally, she would stay over at her Nana and Api's house (her grandfather), where she enjoyed her favorite breakfast—scrambled eggs.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Elizabeth had one setback when she experienced diarrhea and stayed one night in the hospital for observation. However, her checkup in December showed excellent progress. An MRI showed no change in the swelling of her brain compared to the August scans—there was neither an increase nor a decrease. I remained hopeful and confident in her full recovery.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;

          &#xD;

          He Never Stops Working

          This morning as we sang the song,
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           “
           &#xD;
      &lt;a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxTxSCf51ck" target="_blank"&gt;&#xD;
        
            Waymaker"
           &#xD;
      &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    
          , the chorus line awed me,
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            “He never stops working”
           &#xD;
      &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    
          . I am humbled by it, assured and comforted by it.  I still can’t stop crying thinking about these words. I was also deeply convicted.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Humbled
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How often I make light of my prayers, as a "by the way” request.  Not too many years ago, I would pray and ask God to intervene or do something, and already having a plan “b” in place—just in case God does not turn up. I am humbled knowing that He is always working to my benefit. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Assured
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          To know that no matter what or how big or small my request is He is paying attention, and He hears my prayers. I know that there is nothing more that God wants me to do, than to come to Him first with all my concerns. He wants to be first, and foremost in my life. I am assured knowing that the outcome to a situation is not always according to my expectation but for my good.  And even if I don't see it or feel it, I know He is working and is faithful. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Comforted
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          When I do not get an immediate response and answer to my prayers—I know He is working on my behalf. To know that even when He delays an answer, He is still working.  Just this morning before church, I was speaking to someone about my son, and I commented lightly, “that it is a prayerful matter”. Even this matter, where it feels that my prayer is not being answered—not just yet, He is still working.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          He never stops working, we see and experience it every day.  From the moment we open our eyes to the moment we say goodnight to our beloved ones; resting in His arms—He is still working. Everything about us requires a beautiful orchestration of His hands. We are the works of His hands and He upholds us with His right hand.  How encouraging to know, He never stops working!
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41v10
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>A Year Ago...</title>

          A year ago, we gathered in Elizabeth’s hospital room, with the hope of a miracle. The night before the doctors prepared us for the worst. The pressure and fluid kept rising in her brain, and they had to remove part of her skull to make more space for her brain. We needed to wait twenty hours, before they declare her brain dead.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Before we drove out to the hospital, I went for a walk. I just had to get out of the house. It was still dark, and it rained that morning.  I screamed and pleaded God for a miracle.  As I made my way back to the house, I said:” Okay, Lord, you can have her.  I lay her on the altar”, in desperation.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Making our way to the hospital, I sensed a peace—a peace that was with us as we entered her room and stayed with us the whole day. Walking into the room, I saw a nurse preparing dough. I then realized that what we hoped and prayed for did not happen—no blood flow to the brain. We stayed hopeful. I tickled her feet and rubbed her arms and spoke with her, hoping and praying she would open her eyes. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          By noon the doctors came by to speak with us about more tests before the de-escalation process. I wished for the time to stand still for us to have more time with Elizabeth.  As they wheeled her back into the room, they prepared the room and made it comfortable for us.  They brought in a bigger bed for the parents to lie next to her. As the time drew near for the de-escalation to start, I noticed that the sky cleared up and the sun was shining into the room. Late afternoon we said our final goodbyes to Elizabeth.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We could stay with her for as long as we wished.  As I held her for the last time, and pressed her tightly to my chest, all I wanted was for life to get back into her. I watched the nurse lit candles as the sunset, how she gently washed Elizabeth as if she was porcelain.  There was so much peace in that room.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We drove home in silence.  Later that night when speaking to my friend, I mentioned to her, that it felt as if we were restrained. I could not explain it but looking back over that day, I know that the Holy Spirit restrained us. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          So many people around the world prayed for Elizabeth, and yet she died. I battled through the night with the thought that she was ripped away from us at such a very young age. It was the next morning when my daughter shared with me a piece out of  Lysa Terkeurst book,
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           "It's not supposed to be this way"
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    
          , and it was a message for me from heaven: "
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           God didn’t cause this but He is allowing it…"
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    
          . I know this, that God did not cause the sickness, but He allowed it to happen.  We will never have the answers and we continue to believe that God is good and faithful. He has our world in the palm of His hand.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Isaiah 41:10 ESV 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Looking back over the year, I would always use the last two days of the year to reflect on what has been—the challenges I faced, the victories and the growth which I experienced.  A week ago, I gave this some thought, and it felt at that moment, that no growth had taken place in my life. Note, I said: “felt” — measuring by what growth should feel like. It didn’t feel like growth took place—that I remained at one place. In the personal development arena, there is a formula to measure growth. Both; personal and spiritual growth are important to me and I am more prone to look for spiritual growth.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As I delved deeper into this thought, thinking of how 2019 started off for us as a family and where I find myself right now—it was not an easy journey, one that I thought I would not overcome.  But I did.  Just the fact that I could testify, ending the year in good spirit, is a huge sign that deep growth took place. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          It is not the normal growth where we see and observe visible fruits of growth.  This growth is not visible yet, it is a growth of another dimension.  Using the analogy of the tip of the iceberg, to explain what deep growth can look like. Looking at an iceberg one sees a small tiny piece sticking out and may even look like a blob of ice floating on the waters.  But, the real weight, size, depth and strength of the iceberg is beneath the surface, which is invisible.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          When we face life challenges, it would often feel as if we remain stationary—nothing happening.  But why is that? We are so involved in finding solutions in how to best deal with the disappointment, failure, divorce, betrayal or grief that we overlook the part where we grow through these processes.  As hard as it may be, it involves every inch of our being in trying to ease the pain. It is a tough and a hard place to be, but it is in this very process that our faith muscles grow in another dimension. Our faith grows in weight, size, depth and strength, and the true value of this growth is only to be seen much later or upon deeper reflection. When looking back, we would often remark: “I don’t know how I got through it, but I did.” 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This is true for me today. I cannot explain how I got here, but I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the process and path I am on.  In these months gone by, I prayed one sentence every day: “Lord, heal my heart.” 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          May you look to Him, our Lord Saviour, for the journey you're on however challenging, to give you new hope and heal your pain.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           Looking back at the months gone by, I never thought I would be in a “good place” again.  A place of no pain and deep grief.  Back in January, all I wanted to do is fast forward my life to December, with the hope that the pain would be lessor or gone.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I was so desperate for my heart to heal.  The pain was so deep and my heart was hurting that I thought it might never happen.  Every day, I prayed and thanked God for the healing - not my healing only but for our whole family.  In the beginning, even though it hurt, I would look at Elizabeth’s photos and videos on most days. I would do this until it stopped hurting.
           &#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Over the past months I read and listened to everything that would help me gain a greater understanding about death.  It has brought great insight and I will write more about that in the future and about the many facets of grief.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I am so thankful to God, for healing my heart.  Even though it feels that not much else has happened in my life in the past year, I can truly celebrate His goodness and faithfulness.  The year has gone past so quickly, and it could have been different and I am grateful that it isn’t.  I can hardly imagine that eleven months ago - today, we said goodbye to Elizabeth.  I remain thankful for the privilege of having her in our lives. I am also thankful for the many prayers that sustained us.  I have learned to value your prayers and remember how dependent I was on them. Thank you!
          &#xD;

          With so many things happening around us and in the world, we can become overwhelmed, sidetracked and disillusioned; loosing focus of the bigger picture.  God is still in control.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We as believers have a responsibility to guard ourselves against the negative voices and influences around us
          &#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
      
           . "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    
          ~ Ephesians 6: 10-12  We decide; what we allow to influence us, what we expose ourselves to and in which way we respond to these.  Neglecting to be on guard, will leave us vulnerable to the negative voices which will result in fear and despair. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We know who is in control of our lives.  We know where our hope and help comes from.  Our hope and help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  We will therefore not lose hope, nor be fearful of the future, regardless of the raging storms around us.  We are not alone - you are not alone, Jesus is with us always.  He is our comforter and the one who calms the storm.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Should you feel unsettled, disturbed or anxious about anything, take some time out and bring it before the Lord of Hosts.  When we cry out to our God, he will respond and answer us.  Let us therefore focus on the cross-Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We don’t know what the future holds or what tomorrow may bring, but we know with certainty who holds our future in his hands.  Jesus, we look to you in every moment of uncertainty, to give us your peace that surpasses all understanding.  Amen!

           Today, we are celebrating our 30th Wedding anniversary. In today’s life it would be seen as a milestone. But is it really?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           We live in a very demanding world; everything must go our way or no way. Everything must be instant–we want our partners to change instantly and we want our relationship issues to disappear instantly.  And if it doesn’t, we call it a day- throw in the towel.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I was saying to someone yesterday, marriage is about growth. We grow in the good times and we definitely grow in the bad times. And it requires a lot of patience, perseverance, forgiveness and prayer. Patience—allowing your partner to see your view or to accept your opinion even if you do not agree on it.  Perseverance when we confronted with the flaws in our partners character, which we cannot fix, even though we so much want to do that- creating strife when not apologized for or talked through. Forgiveness-over and over again. Prayer-is the backbone, the cement that holds a marriage together.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           We or some of us, want our husbands to conform to our liking and world.  They are not holy enough, not considerate enough, not helping enough, and, and. This is the biggest trap we can fall prey to.  I admit, this is my weakest point. Every time I get to a place of being discontent, I will complain to God. And be reminded about my “buts”—trying to justify my complaints. I sometimes would pray and concentrate not to use the word “but”, just to feel the gently conviction of the Holy Spirit.  Then I will confess:
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            “Lord, he is your problem and not my problem.  Help and teach me to pray for my husband in the way you want me to pray”.  
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           I look back over thirty years, and I was stretched, challenged and confronted to grow in this relationship.  I made many mistakes and had to bear the consequences thereof.  I have experienced God’s healing, forgiveness, faithfulness and trust restored. I have enjoyed the love and encouragement of a partner on my good days and bad days.  Together, we have raised three great children, and we are privileged to still journey with them in their adult life. We have a wonderful son-in-law and were blessed with two amazing adult girls who were added to our family seven years ago.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            As I was running in the park this morning, I saw a pair of legs sticking out.  As I passed, I noticed the tattoo on the one leg. The observance of the tattooed leg, I immediately recalled the dream I had last night.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In the dream I tattooed my upper right leg and the left.  It was beautifully decorated with red, green and yellow filigrees.  As I looked at it and admired the detail, I quickly realized that it was permanent, and there is no way of just wiping it away.  Not only was I disturbed that I had acted on impulse but the thought of something like that and the permanence of it was overwhelming. In the back of my mind I remembered, the thought: It is okay, everybody is okay with it, even the very people’s opinion you trust, says—it’s okay.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           It did not take me long to come to understand the deep meaning of this dream.  I am not a tattoo person. I am not judging any believer that has tattoos.  This writing is also not about tattoos. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We live in a society, where we as Christians are often required to conform to worldly standards.  In
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            Rom. 12v1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transf
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
          
             ormed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
            &#xD;
        &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
        
            I have observed over the years many believers take someone else’s opinion as “Yes” and “Amen”—applying it to their lives without measuring it to God’s word firstly and second, bringing it before God—letting the Holy Spirit test it and convict us. Through this exercise and the relationship, we have with our Lord Jesus Christ, will we truly know whether we should adopt or adjust ourselves to someone else’s truth? We have become comfortable with the preaching and teaching of others and have neglected the warning of Paul in
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            1 Thes. 5:21 ”but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.”
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            What they say does not mean it is a licence to do, instead let us consult the Holy Spirit—the spirit of truth—to convict us and bring to light the truth.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Here is my takeaway of the dream - what God was saying to me:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           1.       To not act on impulse but to wait upon Him. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           2.       To not act on people’s truths and opinions but on the conviction of the Holy Spirit in my own life. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           3. Impulsive decisions and actions have consequences, of which some may have permanent effects. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           4. Trust in the work God has already done in my life. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           5. Know His word and know Him.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           6.       Be  careful of false teaching. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           7. Watch out for that which presents itself as to good to be true – test it against God’s word. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           8. To not do just because others are doing it.
          &#xD;

         They moved into their new apartment close to us, the beginning of August. Her father came after being away for three months. We had a lovely and warm summer and Elizabeth loved her morning walks with their dog Ellie, and visits to the park where she played in the mud puddles.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           She was never sick, just the normal running nose and a cough. On the 16 of August she started to vomit.  She would eat and drink and hours later she would vomit. She would at most vomit twice a day. On the third day my daughter took her to the doctor.  The doctor diagnosed it as a stomach virus and prescribed a suppository.  After three days there were visible improvement, and we went back to the doctor.  The whole time she had no fewer became less and less active. This time the doctor told me; I was an over-concerned grandmother.  He advised us to continue with medication. I was not at peace when we left his rooms.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           The night before Elizabeth got sick, I had a dream.  I will not go into detail here, but it was a warning of an attack upon her life.  When I woke up that morning, I remembered every detail and had no fear or worry neither did I experience fear during the dream. I prayed for her health and safety that morning.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Elizabeth’s condition did not improve, and my daughter went back to the doctor, but this time to another doctor as their doctor was away.  He suggested that her vomiting could result from teething and advised them not to continue administering the medication and instead giving her lots of liquids. Still Elizabeth had no fewer.  As we had to go visit relatives in Hannover on Saturday, I told my daughter to take Elizabeth to hospital should she show no improvement.  Whilst we were visiting, she sent a photo of Elizabeth squinting; I told her to take her to the hospital immediately.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           On our way back, I realized that this would not be an easy battle to overcome, and that we are needing prayer support.  I started sending prayer alerts to all our family and friends. The entire three-hour journey I prayed
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            Psalm. 91
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      
           . Our daughter updated us throughout the night.  The doctors were very concerned about her and did brain scans and blood tests.  When we went to see her on Sunday, they had made no diagnosis yet.

    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          When we returned from our Christmas celebration, I spent a lot of time in prayer as what I suspected for a long time was confirmed—my daughter was suffering with postnatal depression. It was soon after Elizabeth’s birth that I started noticing small things in her behavior.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The middle of January they went to visit family in South Africa and Namibia.   Before they left, I had spoken with her and prayed with her.  I gave her tools to help her get better and checked in with her every two days to hear how she was doing. They returned a few days after Elizabeth’s first birthday.  My daughter would start working in April and Elizabeth would go to Kindergarten. A few days after returning my daughter messaged me to say they are considering moving back to South Africa as financially they would not make it in the United Kingdom.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This message disturbed me and decided not to respond at first as I needed to process the news and talk to God first.  After work I went for a walk in the park and prayed about the matter.  It was only later the evening that I could respond to the matter with objectivity.  I pointed out the pros and cons of moving to South Africa and I proposed them to consider moving to Germany instead—pointing also the pros and cons.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Two days later, she messaged to say they decided to relocate to Germany.  A few days earlier I had just booked my ticket to visit them for the Easter holidays. Everything then happened quickly.  I helped them pack up during my visit. She was also doing better.  Her husband had to go back to South Africa for work and to apply for a visa for Germany.  My daughter and Elizabeth arrived in Germany on the 11 of May 2019.  The two of them stayed with us until they could find a place of their own.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I started writing a book for young adults in January which I wanted to use as material for my missions trip to Ghana and Malawi later in the year.  When they decided to move here, I stopped writing and packed my stuff away.  I did not work on any of my projects—no blogging, etc.  I was fine with the decision as I knew my family needed me for this season.  I traveled to Ghana in the beginning of June and presented a workshop on “Who am I” and cancelled the Malawian trip in August.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          What a wonderful, joyous time it was to have them living with us.  Seeing that beautiful smiling face early in the morning before going to work and coming back home in the afternoon.  The sunny days in the park where she would splash and play in the mud puddles. Chasing her down the passage, unpacking the kitchen cupboard and decorating the floor with bowls and dishes. My husband could not wait to get home at night to still catch her awake and kiss her good night.
         &#xD;

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           It is the last day of my holiday and I finally decided to invest time in some spring cleaning. I started out in the kitchen and with the kitchen cupboards.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I was about to give up on the last shelf when confronted with the thought to do it properly and not half-heartedly.  I got onto a chair and started clearing the shelf. And there I found two tins of Elizabeth treats.  I looked into it and thought, “ah, just leave it”. But then I threw it into the garbage bin.  It has been seven months since her passing, and these treats have all expired. There are still so many of her stuff around the house, like her bowl in the drawers, her sneakers on the bookshelf, her bathing toys and her knife and work which she refused to use as she wanted to use adult cutlery.  These little reminders of her are part of our memories of her, and there are days that I pay no attention to it but today throwing those animal-shaped biscuits away was a kind of hard. She knew where I stored them and would pull me in the cupboard's direction and point to these tins.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As I write this, I am tearful, which I haven’t been in a long time.  Three weeks ago, I entered a place of feeling gratitude and privileged to have known her, and have her part of my life.  I no longer cut short thoughts of her as it was too painful, but I now let my thoughts and memories flow into every detail. I have shared with my close friends recently, that I sensed God has healed my heart.  And for this, I am grateful for I thought this was not possible. For months this was my focus praying, for God to heal my heart.  There will always be a part of my heart missing and remembering her. I like to think of it as a scar which speaks of the pain afflicted and the healing that took place.
         &#xD;

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Throwing those treats away, and carrying on cleaning with the rest of the house, not giving it a second thought again,  I felt free from pain or heaviness.

         Often we come to a place where we feel overwhelmed and tired.  The everyday issues that just seem to pile up day after day, resulting in a feeling of “tired of life”.  A feeling of overburdened.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          What is a cluttered heart?  Clutter meaning:  cover or fill (something) with an untidy collection of things—Oxford dictionary.  Cluttering of the heart would fill our hearts with things such as unresolved issues, situations or stuff not taken care of or circumstances that are overwhelming.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How do we get to such a place?  One of the following areas or all may bring about a cluttered heart.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Too busy schedule
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Work overload
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Demanding family life
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Relationship conflict
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          All the above justify feelings of being overwhelmed, overburdened and cluttered.  For me personally, I know the signs of a cluttered heart, as I have been there so often.  For the past eight years, I have paid careful attention to these “little foxes” that can spoil my vine. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Looking at the four points above, I find relationship conflict to be the biggest offender, causing a cluttered heart.  An unresolved issue or conflict between people, always result in a great inner turmoil.  I don´t know about you, but for me it is.  Relationships is a soft and easy target, and we all fall prey to it, almost daily.  This can happen in marriage, family or work environment.  Most cases, an exchange of words take place and we interpret the exchange of words or body language; as either positive or negative.  Taking into consideration the state of mind we might find ourselves in at that moment, will cause a certain reaction.  By the end of the day, we are bombarded with many not so good thoughts, leaving us with unsettling feelings.  Add to that, the uncompleted tasks, which was on our priority list for the day.  As we make our way home, after a long day, the thoughts of having to change gears, from work to family can both be joyful and of anticipation. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We step into our “safe environment”, our home, just to be confronted with the demands of family life. How do we transition our shift gears effectively in such a way that our family does not become the victims of our bad day?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           Reflect
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How about, we practice building in reflection time every day before we enter our safe environment?  If you have mastered the trick to shift gears from work to the family effectively, without having a spillover of the day into your family life—well done!  Yet finding the time to reflect and to unclutter our hearts daily is still very important for our spiritual and emotional wellness.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          A cluttered heart causes stress and in most cases sub-conscious stress.  Causes which we are often not aware of.  This may cause sickness as well as affecting our family and other relationships.  This may also bring about a disconnect between us and God.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Here are some ideas which have helped me to unclutter my heart daily.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Find the time before going to bed to reflect about your day. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Sensing an unsettling feeling—pray about it—bring to God.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Repent if you need to—about your behavior, etc. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Forgive others if you need to and release
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Commit your night's rest to God
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Should you find the next day that there is still something bothering you;
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Bring it before God again and surrender the matter to Him to resolve
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          ·         Apologize to the person/s involved if need be.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Through this very useful exercise, I have cultivated a habit, to throughout the day, reflect and look inwardly to sense, what is in my heart, and the attitude of my heart.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Prov. 4v23 (NIV)  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

         This story so resonated with me.  It’s the story of Ern Baxter.
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Ern was a rebellious boy. Slipping past his granny’s room late at night, he knew that she was praying for him. She would stay up praying for him until he was home safely. Ern had a praying grandmother, and because of her prayers, Ern became born again. As an evangelist and preacher, thousands would attend his services, for God used him mightily through signs, wonders, and miracles. His granny would sit right in front and always with her head bowed she would pray for Ern while he is preaching.
         &#xD;

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

          When she died, it deeply grieved him for he loved her, and cherished her valuable guidance and prayers. As he approached the pulpit the following Sunday morning to preach, he looked across to where his granny used to sit, and wept. At that moment he realized that it was her prayers that allowed him to be a great preacher and not a gift from God. Speechless, when suddenly, an elderly lady called from the back, and said, “Pastor, I’ll be your granny!” She walked down the aisle, took her place in the front row, started to pray, and Ern could start preaching.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This story made me cry, as it reminded me of my granny. She came to live with us for a while and shared the room with my sister and I. I so clearly remember, how she would pray every morning and evening, beside her bed with her head covered with a scarf. She would pray for each of her eight children. She would make a petition for each of them and their families. I cannot remember that I heard her pray for me specifically, but I am so thankful today for I am blessed, and are reaping the benefits of her prayers.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Today, I follow the example of my granny Thomas. As a young believer, I started in her footsteps to pray for my children. When I didn’t know what to pray, as I wanted to pray specific prayers, I got myself Stormie Omartian’s book,

             My Journey as a short-lived Nana

           We were ecstatic when we received the news at the beginning of August 2016 that we would be grandparents. My husband and I were eagerly awaiting this blessing to come our way but remained patiently with no pressure upon the children. As they kept the gender a secret until Christmas, we called her "sea monkey".  From the start, I prayed for “her”.  I prayed that God would protect her and her mom.  That she will carry her the full term and that she would grow in a healthy environment both inside and outside of the womb.  And that our little sea monkey would have no abnormalities.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Christmas that year, our whole family celebrated together at their home in the United Kingdom.  They packed the gender identity in a sealed box, which the doctor gave them when she had her first sonar. We had a countdown and as I saw that pink ball, I jumped up and down, shouting “yes, yes”. God had answered my prayer, for a little princess.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Elizabeth was due to arrive towards the beginning of April but appeared on the 9th March.  I had planned my holiday so; I could spend with them for two weeks.  My employer allowed me to take my leave earlier. My best friend became a Granny years before me and would rave about what these little people do to one’s heart and life. I could not relate until I came to experience this for myself. It was more than what I thought and expected to be.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The love and joy I felt when I first held her, is something only Grandparents would understand.  I wanted to protect her with my whole life. I prayed for her and over her life- that God would bless her with a healthy and long life. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I had planned my holidays and visits in such a way I could see her every second month during that year.  We would video phone several times in the week to see and speak with her.  We received daily updates, videos, and pictures of her.  Her first smile, when she could sit by herself, her first spoon-fed meal and when she started to crawl. They celebrated her first birthday whilst they were on holiday in South Africa. Her life instantly transformed our lives.  My husband could visit her a few times in that year.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          At Christmas, it is a custom in our family to write things we are grateful for over the last year.  The number one on my list for the past two years were that I was thankful for the blessing of a grandchild, her health and growth. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;i&gt;&#xD;

           How does it look like in today’s living?  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The same, and through the face of Digital Media. From the minute we wake up in the morning, until the last moment before we close our eyes at night, they direct our mind on this one subject - Digital Media.  We eat, walk and socialize with it, and have become oblivious of the real world around us.  We have become indifferent.  
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We are ignorant of how we grant the Media to bombard our views and hinder our spiritual air-ways.  It has so influenced our lives; we have become deaf and consequently ignorant to our God. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Quieting our outer-self has now become more urgent for the inner-self.   Creating a space and place where we can come before God with open airways.  Over the years I have practiced the habit of not turning my phone on before I had breakfast and my quiet time.   The few times where I had my phone on early mornings, just made my whole being to move in overdrive where I battled to quiet myself in prayer.  I found myself to be unfocused, and with thoughts running wild.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          When we come to God, we need to create an atmosphere in our hearts where we are prepared to receive from Him and extend our absolute attention to Him.  Our hearts to be in a Spiritual quietness - peaceful until He becomes our priority, our routine will look the same. Come near to God and He will come near to you. (James 4:8) What are you willing to sacrifice to rekindle this unique love affair between you and Him?  He will not contend for our time or attention. " Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. " (Rev. 3:20) He is waiting for us to enter His presence, He always reserves our place next to Him.
         &#xD;

          A Beautiful way to Celebrate!

           When things go well for us; where lack is not a problem, we take things for granted.  Often, when faced with difficulty and challenges, we are forced or required to look at life from a different perspective.  What is it that really matters?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I remember a time when we were flourishing, the gifts we bought became year after year more expensive.  We made wish lists so we would get the gifts we really want and need.  But it all changed.  In 2008 Christmas had for us as a family a different look and feel.  Our business faced severe financial distress, because of the economic downturn and some bad decisions, which had a direct impact upon us.  There was no money for gifts and luxuries.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I came up with an idea, that would make that Christmas special and every other Christmas that followed.  Traditionally, in our family on Christmas Eve, we would sit around the coffee table and share with our children, the message of Christmas.  We would then move over to the dinner table.  After dinner, we would return to the lounge and exchange gifts. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          That Christmas we started a new tradition.  As we sat down around the coffee table, to share about the message of Christmas, I handed each one a card, asking that they fill it out with at least, five things they are grateful for.  I collected the cards without reading them and hung them onto the Christmas tree.  The following year, I would read out each one's gratitude card of the previous year, after we filled out the new cards.  As I read the cards aloud, we would cheer and encourage each other.  Sometimes reading the gratitude cards, our eyes would well up.   Over the years, some have expressed gratitude for things they would like to accomplish and have in their lives. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As the family has grown in age and number, I still love to sit and watch each one, as they ponder upon the many things they can and should be grateful for.  This is such a beautiful picture to watch.  During this very special time with my family; around the festive table, we share our highs and lows of the past year which makes this beautiful season even more special.  We not only celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ, but we also celebrate each other - all that God has done and still going to do.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This year, we will be celebrating Christmas, at my daughter’s place in the UK, and I will carry with me last year’s gratitude cards.  As we prepare to celebrate this Christmas, let us ponder upon the reason Christ was born, the many things we can and should be grateful for, and for all that he is doing in us and through us.            Choices, are something that we get to make every day, the whole day.  Most of the time we are not aware of the choices we make.  We choose what we think, feel and behave.  This is what we also call free will.  God has given us this unique ability to choose.  To choose from right or wrong, from good and bad.  The very famous scripture in Deuteronomy 30v9 (NLT)
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
             "Today, I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses.  Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.  Oh, that you would choose life so you and your descendants might live! "
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           For me one of the greatest choices we are to make, on any day; is the choice to forgive.  One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to forgive.  This is a hard and challenging topic for many, yet there are some that find it easy to forgive.  God has blessed me with the ability to forgive quickly.  And I stand in awe every time I face a situation, how quickly His love and grace allows me to make that choice; to forgive and move forward. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Not too long ago, I faced a situation of disappointment, which to me at that moment felt unforgivable.  I prayed about it and this is what I said to God: “Lord, I don’t know whether I can pass this on. This is hard.  Lord help me forgive.”  With this prayer and the thought of conviction that I am no saint, I repented for playing judge.  A few days thereafter, I reflected and worked through my own behavior.  I had forgiven and received forgiveness.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Not only do we need to forgive others but we should forgive ourselves. Failing to forgive others and ourselves will cause us not living in freedom nor our true potential.  We will stay stuck in an inferior complex just because of our lack of forgiveness.   
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Unforgiveness robs us from true freedom.  Unforgiveness results in resentment and bitterness, which bring about sickness and disease.  It creates negative thought patterns.   
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Choose therefore to Forgive, so that you can be forgiven.  Forgiveness brings inner peace and healing. Mathew 6v15 Jesus said that we are to forgive others so that our heavenly Father can forgive us our sins. For us to live in right standing with God, we need to live in forgiveness.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            When we forgive, we give up our right to be the victim instead we become the victor!
           &#xD;
      &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           As we prepare ourselves for the Christmas celebration, let us be mindful of the gift of forgiveness -God has sent His only beloved Son because of His great love toward us.  Jesus Christ died for our sins, forgiving us all our sins and bringing us in right standing with God our Father.  Let nothing and no one stand between you and God.
          &#xD;

  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          "Alignment" - Word for 2017
         &#xD;

           Happy 2017!  I pray that you will grow and blossom in your walk with God and that you may get to experience all His great blessings, favor and good health this year.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          To prepare for the New Year, I asked God for a word for 2017.  The word I got was: “alignment”.  That was on Friday morning and in the evening as I prayed, I received more clarity on this word.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Nothing that has happened in the past was in vain.  Everything had its time, place and purpose.  Look back with joy and peace, knowing that God was and is still in control.  With that same attitude of the heart, look forward and embrace the New Year.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          God is aligning us—His church and has created an open window—a time, for us to live and preach our mandate—the good news, making disciples of all nations - uncompromised, without fear of judgment or persecution.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We as children of God are called to align ourselves with His word - the Bible, His truth.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Regardless of what may happen around the world.  We are to stand firm on the rock which is Jesus.  Jesus is our rock.  We are to be secure in His word—His truth. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          He has created and prepared a platform for revival to take place all around the world.  We are to align ourselves so we can host and maintain it.  God is calling His church into alignment.  We are His light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden (Matt. 5v14)
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
           
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          I was then thinking about alignment, to what I can compare it to, and was reminded of a car which wheel alignment is out.  We all know the feeling of driving a car of which the wheel alignment is out.  “Alignment refers to an adjustment of a vehicle’s suspension—the system that connects a vehicle to its wheels”.  (Bridgestone tire)  Uneven tire wear is a familiar sign, at a certain speed, the car vibrates, pulling to one side and sometimes one may feel uncomfortable and unsafe behind the wheel.  The same is true for us as believers. When we are out of alignment, we experience the same feelings.  Only when we, the church lives in alignment with His word, and our mandate can we feel steady, secure and safe.

           We know from God's word, that He has a plan and a purpose for each one of us.  He has equipped with; gifts—that which we receive from the Holy Spirit, talents—that which we are born with and learned skills, to help us fulfill the call and purposes for our lives.  Some people know from early in life, what it is they want to pursue and accomplish in their lives.  Others have received a prophetic word or a vision from God. Yet there are others still uncertain, what it is exactly they are to do here on earth.  One way in finding out and knowing your purpose is through asking yourself the following questions:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         What are you passionate about and dream of doing?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         What are you naturally good at?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         What breaks your heart?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           We read in Eph. 2v10;
           &#xD;
      &lt;i&gt;&#xD;
        
            we have been created In Christ Jesus, to do the good works which God has prepared for us long ago to do
           &#xD;
      &lt;/i&gt;&#xD;
      
           .  So, there is something for each one of us to do, in building the Kingdom of God.  We all play a part in God's master plan for humanity.  We all have gifts, talents, and skills to accomplish that, which God has prepared for us.  One day we will have to give an account for what we did with that which was given to us.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Getting to the place of living the purposes and call of God is often challenging.  It is in these moments we feel like quitting and letting go.  Challenges and testing are part of the training regime, for that which God has planned for us.  Press on and pursue that which you believe God has called you to do.  
          &#xD;

    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            Pursuit Checklist 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Believe and know that God has a plan and a purpose for your life.  (Prov. 19v21, Jer. 29v11)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Believe, that you have gifts, talents, and skills to make a difference.  (1 Pet 4v10, 1 Cor. 12v4-6, Math. 25v15a)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Believe, He that is within you, is the controlling factor—not my circumstances—not the enemy's voice.  (1 John 4v4)
          &#xD;

           ·         Believe, despite adversity and challenges you will overcome and pursue your call.  (Phil. 3v14)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           ·         Believe, everything has a season and a purpose.  (Rom. 8v28)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Believe, there is a process involved, which could mean waiting, preparing and equipping.  (Eph. 4v12)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Order your life in a way where your priorities are in line with God's word.  (Phil. 4v8-9)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Seek and be open for counsel from mature Christians.  (Prov20v18) 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Wherever or whatever you do, do with excellence and be faithful.  (2Tim. 2)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Thank God, in all things.  (1Thes. 5v18)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           ·         Trust Him, in every situation and for everything.  (Ps. 37v5)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           God has invested in each one of us, to bring us to our place of destiny.  All the testing, trials and tribulations however hard and painful play a part in His plans and purposes for our lives.  We have the witness of the Holy Spirit inside of us, to guide us along every step we are to take.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
