"Alignment" - Word for 2017
Happy 2017! I pray that you will grow and blossom in your walk with God and that you may get to experience all His great blessings, favor and good health this year.
To prepare for the New Year, I asked God for a word for 2017. The word I got was: “alignment”. That was on Friday morning and in the evening as I prayed, I received more clarity on this word.
Nothing that has happened in the past was in vain. Everything had its time, place and purpose. Look back with joy and peace, knowing that God was and is still in control. With that same attitude of the heart, look forward and embrace the New Year.
God is aligning us—His church and has created an open window—a time, for us to live and preach our mandate—the good news, making disciples of all nations - uncompromised, without fear of judgment or persecution.
We as children of God are called to align ourselves with His word - the Bible, His truth.
Regardless of what may happen around the world. We are to stand firm on the rock which is Jesus. Jesus is our rock. We are to be secure in His word—His truth.
He has created and prepared a platform for revival to take place all around the world. We are to align ourselves so we can host and maintain it. God is calling His church into alignment. We are His light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden (Matt. 5v14)
I was then thinking about alignment, to what I can compare it to, and was reminded of a car which wheel alignment is out. We all know the feeling of driving a car of which the wheel alignment is out. “Alignment refers to an adjustment of a vehicle’s suspension—the system that connects a vehicle to its wheels”. (Bridgestone tire) Uneven tire wear is a familiar sign, at a certain speed, the car vibrates, pulling to one side and sometimes one may feel uncomfortable and unsafe behind the wheel. The same is true for us as believers. When we are out of alignment, we experience the same feelings. Only when we, the church lives in alignment with His word, and our mandate can we feel steady, secure and safe.
